We are delighted to announce a third keynote speaker for our Otago Regional Conference in September.
In addition to former Poet Laureate Bill Manhire and book recommender extraordinaire Joan MacKenzie from Whitcoulls, we are very excited to include Christchurch librarian, writer and award winning blogger Moata Tamaira in our programme. Moata is a self described ‘internet snark’ who has a regular blog on the Christchurch City Libraries website and has previously written for The Spinoff and a blog on the Stuff website. We love Moata’s ‘snarking’ style (her dress style is cool too if you’ve seen her Twitter posts!) We are thrilled to have her as a keynote speaker. Over the coming weeks, we will be confirming more keynote speakers, as well as announcing workshops related to reading and literacy, developing library collections, engaging learners, and social media and libraries. The programme will have wide appeal to the primary, intermediate and secondary school sectors, as well as to other libraries with a youth or children’s focus. The following details may help with your planning and budget requests:
We are still accepting conference sponsors and trade exhibitors. If you would be interested in either of these options, please contact the co-conveners Bridget Schaumann ([email protected]) or Carole Gardiner ([email protected]).
